Community Action for Improvement
I was hired by a local non-profit organization to create a better user experience for the website and mobile app. I used a design thinking process to develop a better website for future users. I Identified design problems with an in-depth understanding of the 10 usability heuristics.
The Process
I used design thinking to understand the business's objectives and ideate ways to solve issues with a website based on feedback from their potential users. The main objective was to help Donors, Volunteers, Partners, and the less fortunate to easily navigate the website.

Understanding the customer
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Designing Solutions
Using the design interface and the design principle I created 4 slides describing the issues with the old site. I also explained how a few changes could help users' experiences be more enjoyable.
Design Process
After viewing very carefully the mobile application I discovered Cafi has a lot of things going on that could be very confusing for users. I took the liberty of designing a before and after version that I believe will help suit the users’ needs.
Desktop Version
The desktop version of Cafi’s site had some issue as well, they had so much going on that it would be confusing to a user. I took the liberty of creating my own version that would create a simpler navigation for the users’ experience.
In conclusion I learned that Cafi has a lot of important information, but they use too many words to explain what they are trying to say. I took on this project to help them express what they wanted to portray to their users in a simpler and affective way. My goal was to show them that less is better when you are trying to portray information and easier navigation can help improve their user experience.
